I know it’s still fall, but it sure felt like winter here in Georgia this morning. The temperatures were below freezing, so as soon as the sun made its appearance, I bundled up and headed outside to fill the feeders and add fresh water to the birdbaths. It didn’t take long for the birds to start showing up.
Some came looking for food…
While others came in search of a nice refreshing drink.
The water dishes that didn’t have a heater iced back over pretty quickly. I had to keep going out with a big old ice cream scoop (Blue Bell Vanilla Bean is what it’s usually used for) to break up the surface layer of ice. Although the birds didn’t flutter about me like they do for Snow White, they did seem to appreciate my diligence.
I’m not a big fan of winter, but it is nice to have more activity at the feeders.
