The front yard Zinnias continue to be a hugely popular place, but the backyard has blossoms too – like this beautiful Obedient Plant which recently started blooming. The Swallowtails (like the Spicebush below) absolutely love it!

I do have to laugh at the plant’s name, especially since it seems to do as it pleases – but I’m thrilled to have another flower that’s bringing in such beauty.
Flower and butterfly make a stunning couple!
What a lovely bloom and a fabulous visitor!
I planted zinnias all over, out by the road, behind the garage and in my wildflowers. So far I have bees but no butterflies that I’ve seen and no hummingbirds. Other years I’ve had both at my zinnias all the time. π¦
Our butterflies were super late because of the cold winter. Give em a little longer this year!
Makes sense.
Ha, ha, I was going to ask you about your obedient plant…but you answered my question. It certainly is beautiful, but the most disobedient plant I have ever seen.
I know, right!
