There is something wonderful about sitting outside on a crisp autumn morning with a warm mug of coffee in hand! But what is even more wonderful is when I head over to Mom’s and we do this together!
Just the other morning, we were sitting outside on her front porch, enjoying coffee and conversation, when a whole host of birds showed up – I guess you could call them our coffee crew!
Some were eating at the feeding station, like this Tufted Titmouse…

…and this handsome Downy Woodpecker.

Some, like this Swainson’s Thrush, were grabbing berries for breakfast.

And one visitor, who was adorned with fur and not feathers, helped himself to a leisurely drink from the freshly filled bird bath – though I hear he’d rather we refer to it as the receptacle for rodent refreshment!

Hmmm…good coffee, good company, and a good crew of birds…I think I’m gonna have to make this a habit!
What a wonderful company!
What a very lovely way to spend time! Alas, I only wish I could go back in time and do this very same thing on my parents’ back porch, watching all the birds, my father attracted to their yard.
Nice company!
Nice to see that no matter where you go birds are there! (And chipmunks!)
I see nothing wrong with this new habit you’re cultivating, Kathy!
