I love people, I promise I do.
But being an introvert, I need healthy doses of solitude, preferably surrounded by beauty, to refresh and restore.
And since my calendar has been a bit congested as of late, I decided a trip to my favorite local lake was in order.
While there, I encountered a Great Egret, who first was fishing…

… and later was flying.

The typical gangs of cantankerous geese were also present, busy taunting and trash talking each other!

Towards the end of the walk I was treated to an Osprey hovering about, though he stayed at too far of a distance to get a good shot.

At one point, the Osprey disappeared for a moment and then swooped down for a catch – only it wasn’t the Osprey that had returned, it was a Bald Eagle!

This was my first time seeing an Eagle at the lake, so it made for quite a happy ending to the outing.
And now, my soul is sufficiently restored, and I am ready to be with people again!
Well that worked out! Always a treat to see any of these big birds.
Be careful, you know,
people can be wilder than other animals.
True!
Very cool sightings!
It was a fun outing!
