Yesterday afternoon, I got a sneak peak at two warblers that migrate through our area in the fall months.
I was outside on the deck and happened to glance up and see some movement in the leaves of our backyard Post Oak. Then, this little Tennessee Warbler peaked out.

These little beauties tend to stay hidden, so I was happy to get a couple of decent shots.

Then, a bit later, a Chestnut-sided Warbler darted down to the fountain for a quick dip.

It’s always fun to have birds that are out-of-the-ordinary drop in!
So cute.
We have grey warblers in New Zealand. I associate their sound with walking through the bush.
Having said that, I regularly hear them outside my house now.
Ah…New Zealand is on my “want to one day visit” list! Lovely little grey warbler.
Fantastic images! Thank you for sharing them. Kind regards…Jay😊
My pleasure!
So cute! You must keep your camera attached to your hip at all times! I’d have to go back inside, fight the dog who would sense my excitement and be jumping on me, struggle to get back outside without her and of course whatever had been out there would have been long gone.
Well, I had my camera with me for the first warbler, but that was exactly the scene for the second. I saw him splashing through the window and by the time I got out (without my very noisy female lab) he only stayed for a couple of shots! Dogs are great “compainions!” – misspell intentional!
so true
