M.Y.O.F. – Make Your Own Fun!
I remember telling that to my kids when they were growing up, and even now, I sometimes say it to myself! I don’t have to wait for the perfect set of circumstances, I can choose to just enjoy life right where I am.
Well, I think the Tennessee Warbler that’s been hanging about the last several days must have heard the same thing from his Mama! This guy knows how to have fun!
He showed up at the fountain the other day, and popped down to take a peek.

Then he ventured a little bit closer…

…and a moment later I’m pretty sure I heard him yell out, “Cannonball!”

He splashed about in the upper level…

…and then flew to a perch that we have sitting at the top of the fountain to poof out his feathers and dry off for a minute.

Then, he darted back down for another dip…

…and then flew back up to the perch – which is basically a stump that has a cluster of branches spreading out close to the base. The birds love it!

He repeated this pattern several times, first having a boisterous bath…

…and then heading back to the perch.

He seemed like he was having such a good time. I could have watched him all day.

M.Y.O.F. – this fella has clearly mastered the art!
He def had a ball!!
I wish you could have seen him in person! Such joy!
Sweet!
splash, splosh, splash
These little warblers are so cute. Are they just passing through? Or have they been around all summer?
Just passing through.
