It’s been awhile since I’ve done a hometown post, mostly because I’ve been sorting through Alaska pictures, but also because the backyard bird activity has been lagging in the midst of our ninety degree days. So, yesterday, I decided to try and remedy that. I grabbed my friend, Patty…everybody say, “Hey Patty”…

…and we drove to a nearby trail. There honestly wasn’t a lot of bird activity there either. They were probably taking shelter in the shade while we two birdbrains walked in the sun!
We did see a handsome Heron…

…and several Barn Swallows, including some that looked like youngsters…

…and even some lovely Swamp Roses.

There were also a ton of geese, but I’m not overly fond of geese, so I didn’t snap many shots of them.
It wasn’t til we returned home that I got my favorite photo of the day. When I pulled into Patty’s driveway to drop her off there was a Mama deer and her two fawns in the backyard.

This time last month I had moose in the backyard, but hey, here in the outskirts of Atlanta, deer will have to do! And they really were beautiful!
They will do just fine! Love the heron and barn swallow too.
It’s funny to watch the deer. Mama walks so carefully, and the babies are bouncing all over the place!
I bet. Babies have no sense at all! LOL!
Graceful deer, for sure!
Hi Patty! 😉
Looks like a lovely walk! Definitely love the little Bambi.
Thanks for playing along!
