Who needs Peter Piper when you have such a perfect pair of pretty petal pickers?
Actually, the male Goldfinch was doing most of the petal plucking this time around,
while the female was posing prettily.
They really make a lovely pair!
I know some folks (especially avid gardeners) find these little birds to be frustrating flower vandals, but for Birdnerd bloggers like myself, the missing petals is a small price to pay for the presence of such entertaining beauties.

Really, they’re plucking the petals to get them out of the way so they can eat the seeds.

Love goldfinches. Don’t see them often, but I have a lot of the coneflowers, so maybe they will find them.
