Bathing Bonanza: Yellow Feathers in the Fountain

It seems like the fountain has been filled with yellow-feathered birds lately.

Like this Tennessee Warbler, who sat in the shallows…

…while this Black-throated Green Warbler waited for his turn on the sidelines.

A pair of female Scarlet Tanagers also showed up to enjoy a quick dip in the upper level.

But the lovely lady that lingered the longest was this Summer Tanager.

She took her time and enjoyed a thorough soaking.

I’m wondering if she was taking advantage of one last splash in the fountain before heading farther south for the winter because I haven’t seen her again since.

I’m convinced that if you want birds to come to your backyard, just add water!

  1. We have often said that the bird bath is just as popular as our feeders around here. But I think it would be even more attractive if I had one where the water moves. I love your little yellow birds!
