Drought Drinkers

We have been in a bit of a drought lately here in Northwest Georgia. Well, until this morning that is. There is a much-welcome rain shower serenading me as I type this post, but before today it’s been dry, dry dry! The lack of water has brought birds to the fountain that I typically only see at the feeders.

Like this Red-bellied Woodpecker that came by several times this past week for a drink.

I always love shots where you can capture a reflection.

At one point, a male Bluebird decided to join him…

…but the Red-bellied let it be known that he prefers drinking alone!

I like how the above picture gives a glimpse of how this fellow got his name!

  1. I love this. Especially the pink through the rock that compliments his red head. And the reflection, of course. Also the bluebird. Always love a bluebird.
