I was out taking pictures today and this beautiful Pine Warbler was keeping me company.

As I looked at his coloring, with his topside sunshiny yellow and a hint of white on his underparts, it reminded me of a sunny side up egg – which sent my mind rabbit trailing back to my childhood years. You see, I had the kind of Mom (the very best kind) who always made sure my brother and I had a hearty breakfast before school. I remember one of my favorite’s being a sunny side up egg with toast and crispy bacon. I would eat the toast first, dipping it into the yolk, and then crumble up the bacon and mix it with the rest of the egg. Yum! That still sounds delicious to me, I’m just too lazy to make it!

Anyway, back to the birds…

…wouldn’t you agree that their vibrant coloring is eggcellent? Sorry! That just flowed from the keyboard before I could stop it!
