There’s no denying that the zinnia garden has been voted as the top spot to dine in our yard by both birds and butterflies, but there are other flavorful flowers to feast on as well. The other day, I saw a lovely Tiger Swallowtail enjoying the yellow blossoms on one of our butterfly bushes.

You can tell this one is a female by the bright blue band at the base of her wings. She’s already taken a bit of wear and tear, but she’s still lovely.

She let me get shots of her from just about every angle…some right side up…

…and some upside down.

Then she flew off to the backyard to visit the lantana, and I followed along behind her to snap a few more photos.

Butterflies add such beauty to the summer season!
ibhave lots of zinnias this year but haven’t seen any butterflies yet. Maybe I’m just not looking at the right time of day.
