Phoebes are such fascinating birds to have around!
It’s fun to watch them when they’re hunting for bugs, as they perch on a branch and repeatedly bob their tails, just waiting to dart down and snare an unsuspecting insect.
But it’s even more fun to watch them when they take a quick bath…and I do mean quick!
I was watching this beauty that was perched near the top of the fountain, and could see he (or she) was watching the water and waiting for the coast to be clear.

When all seemed safe, he darted down, dove under, and rose back out of the water all in the blink of an eye.

Then he returned to the perch to let his feathers dry a bit.

These birds definitely don’t loiter or linger in the fountain – they are rapid rinsers!
Great camera sequence!
I thinkvthey are such subtle but sophisticated little birds.
