I looked outside the other day, just as the evening hours were approaching, and saw a small fidgety bird in the fountain. I thought it was probably a Ruby-crowned Kinglet, but turns out it was its less common cousin, the Golden-crowned Kinglet.

He didn’t stay long, but it was still a treat to have him show up for a brief splash.
What a tiny perfect delight. And even more delightful having you share him with us.
He was quite fun to watch!
I love kinglets. I’ve only seen golden-crowned once, so I agree — not nearly as common, but just as cute.
