I’ve had a Hermit Thrush hanging about the backyard for quite awhile now.

These tan tail tippers are rather shy, and I usually hear them before I actually see them. They sing such a sweet, soft, flute-like song.

They usually forage on the ground beneath the shrubs, staying mostly concealed, but occasionally they will dip down and grab a mealworm to munch on before flying away.

Most of the time when I see them they are stopping in for a sip of water…

…or a quick feather refresh.

I just love their rich creamy color tones!
By the way…I thought about adding a few more “t” words to the title of the post, just for fun…something like – “Time to Talk of Timid Tan Tail Tippers” but I thought that might be a tad overly alliterative, even for me!
Great shots… it’s a favorite songster of mine.
With mating season upon us, my backyard sounds like a symphony these days!
Bliss!
I saw so many Hermit Thrushes every where I went birding, they are a delight!
