The Dashing Dragonfly

Birds aren’t the only colorful creatures that fly and eat insects…

Isn’t this dragonfly cool looking?

His head is basically made up of two giant eyes that allow him to see in almost every direction.  He has two sets of wings which he is able to operate independently, allowing him to dart and dive and even move backwards.

I confess that these large insects make me nervous when they buzz past me without warning.  My first instinct is to think that an overgrowm bee has chosen me for its bullseye; but once I realize it is a dragonfly, I find them absolutely mesmorizing.
