Downy Woodpeckers are great Dads!

This fellow brought his little girl to the Bark Butter branch and fed her gobs of this desirable delicacy, even though she looks like she is as big as he is and should be feeding herself! He has been faithfully protecting her, providing for her, and preparing her for her independence. I have to say, that sure sounds a lot like my Dad too!

The difference is that the Downy Dad only does his job for a couple of weeks and then he’s done – my Dad has never stopped since the day I was born. He has always, without fail, taken good care of me. You don’t have to tell me I am blessed!

Without a doubt, I have a better than Downy Dad!
