So…I was sitting at my desk the other day, fully focused on the mock draft I was doing in prep for the upcoming Fantasy Football season (I am intent on taking first place in the League of Low Expectations!) when what to my wondering eyes should appear but a majestic Monarch flitting about the Zinnias.

I finished the draft and slipped outside, just in time to fire off a few shots.

It’s nice when you can get a picture where the butterfly and the blossom are both pretty, but I kinda like the less polished look of the nearly petal-less flowers as well.

This one mostly kept its wings folded while nectar nipping…

…but I did manage to get at least one picture where you could see the top side of its wings.

These butterflies are such a beauty to behold.
