Here in Northwest Georgia, the leaves are just starting to shed their greens of summer and take on the glorious golds and rusts and oranges and ambers of autumn. And it seems like a lot of the birds I’ve been seeing have been mirroring those same colors of the season.
I saw a couple fall-feathered friends while once again having front porch coffee and conversation and Mom and Dad’s.

And I saw several others while hubby and I were sitting out on the deck eating dinner. I’m not gonna tell you that we were having pizza again, but…well…we were having pizza again!

And to give credit where credit is due, my better half was the first to spot this bathing beauty below.

I have to confess, this lovely array of autumn colors makes me want to go out and buy socks and sweaters in the same tones!
I would have mistaken the female scarlet tanger for a goldfinch.
It’s easy to mistake them from a distance. The Tanager is a good bit larger though. I sometimes have to zoom in with the lens to tell!
