I was out on the deck the other day and saw a female Bluebird enjoying a bath, so I ran in to grab my camera. She was just finishing up by the time I got back outside…
…and then she flew up to a sunny spot where she could dry off and do a bit of primping and pruning.
The male Bluebird must have been waiting for his turn, since he hopped right in the water as soon as she left.
I just love watching these birds bathe because they do so with such abandon!
I also love their drenched-feathered disheveled appearance when they get thoroughly soaked!
I think the way they bathe is the way I really want to live – all in, totally engaged, and enjoying every moment!

I always enjoy watching the birds bathe Kathy, and I can see you do also. They are so vulnerable whilst bathing, and often quite amusing. Loved seeing your Bluebirds in water action.

LOVE these, particularly the third from the bottom. I have a hard time keeping water in the birdbaths…either the sun evaporates it or the birds splash it all out! 🙂
