What’s Better Than Bathing Bluebirds?

Well, in my last post I shared the beauty of some bathing Bluebirds, but do you know what’s even better? Baby Bluebirds!

I knew that our Bluebird pair had been busy snatching up food and flying off to a nearby nest, but this week was the first time they let the little ones accompany them to the backyard feeders.

This young gal was quite expressive, loudly calling out for her food to be delivered.

Dad repeatedly catered to her demands…

…as did Mom.

Whenever they flew away to grab another round of mealworms, she would once again voice her impatience. She sure was a bossy baby!

The parents took turns, one after another, filling her belly.

Meanwhile, little brother was perched on the nearby Bark Butter branch, also hungry.

Dad eventually flew over to him…

…and then made several unsuccessful attempts at a fly by feeding.

He did manage to finally find a spot to perch and deliver a mouthful of Bark Butter.

And of course, while brother was being fed, sister was loudly (and a bit comically) calling for the immediate return of her food deliverers! She’s already a bit of a diva!

I had so much fun watching this family of Bluebirds, and am grateful that they showed up when I was out with the camera!
