About a year and a half ago, hubby built a waterfall fountain in the backyard, and I’m not sure who loves it the most – the birds, the dogs, or me! (Okay, pretty sure I do, but they love it too!)
This fountain has five tiers, and each has it’s own name and personality. The top tier is called Lake Huron, and may or may not contain rocks from said lake; the second tier is called Boulder Pass, and is filled with larger rocks for the water to swerve around; the third tier is called Amicalita, a derivation of Amicalola Falls which is a beautiful waterfall in the area; the fourth is called Rocky Run, and is laced with smaller rocks; and the last tier is called Lab Lounge; and you guessed it, the labra-mutts like to lounge in it.
Well, every bird seems to have its own favorite part of the fountain, and for the Cardinals, it’s Amicalita. This gorgeous guy stopped in for a refreshing dip the other day.

He stayed and splashed about for a good bit, not seeming to be in any hurry at all.

I just love it when they strike a pose with their poofed wet feathers.

Such a beauty!

An interesting construction Kathy, I have never seen this before, the birds obviously love it. Your hubby has done a wonderful job 😊
I shall pass along the compliment. 🙂
So hospitable to them!
the Lab Lounge is even shaped like a dog biscuit!
Oh Kathy! Your & the birds’ very own cascading water garden – just like the one at the Villa D’Este near Rome, Che splendido!
