The stump that we placed at the top of the fountain is turning out to be quite a popular place to perch.
Earlier this month, several Warblers stopped by and indulged me with some pretty poses. Like this Chestnut-sided Warbler…

…and this Black-and-white Warbler.

This Bay-breasted Warbler also dropped in, wearing her non-breeding attire…

…and then poofed out her feathers, which I think was her way of declaring that the perch was now her own personal possession.

All three of these birds are ones I rarely get to take pictures of, so it made me happy that they lingered long enough for me to snap some shots to share.
Love that little black and white warbler. But they are all adorable. There was a stump at my favorite park that always guaranteed some fancy bird would show up if you put a few peanuts on it. Sadly it has rotted away. But I always look for fancy birds at that corner of the trail anyway. Sometimes I see them.
The black-and-white warbler always looks so striking…like he’s decked out in formal attire!
What a delightful resting spot you’ve created for these lovely friends, Kathy! So glad you had this opportunity to photograph them.
You understand what a thrill it is when they show up and stick around long enough to get a photo or two!
Wonderful, sharp images! 🤩
Thank you!
Lovely warblers!
Thanks!
Your warblers are much more colourful than ours, Kathy, and so wonderfully photographed too!
We only have a couple that are here on a regular basis, so it’s a thrill when they stop by.
Beautiful!!
