The fountain has been a popular place lately, especially since the only rainfall we’ve had all month was a light, momentary sprinkle that lasted all of about three minutes! The birds seem thankful for the readily available backyard water.
The other day, when I was outside on the deck, a Bluebird showed up to enjoy a bath.

Meanwhile, as he was enjoying the water, a female was waiting her turn, all the while being showered by his energetic splashing.

Before long, she hopped down, he hopped out, and she hopped in for her turn in the bath…

…while he headed to a sunny spot to dry his feathers.

Soon, a second male showed up and decided to join in the bathing…

…while a younger male waited on the perch for his chance to get in the water.

They must have extended an invitation, because before long, there were three birds happily bathing.

For awhile, there was a constant blur of bluebirds flying in and out of the water.
Most of the time they all got along just fine, but every once in awhile one would become a bit cantankerous, clearly wanting a solo bathing experience.

This band of boisterous bathers stayed for about fifteen minutes before they flew off with their freshly rinsed feathers.

I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed having this rowdy crowd pay a visit!
….what a grand display and delight to see through your lens. thank you.
It was such fun. And thanks for the kind comment!
Oh my! That was so fun!!! If I lived at your house I’d never leave the deck, waiting for the next entertaining group to arrive. Seriously, if you see this much during the time on your deck just think how much is going on unseen!
I pretty much set up my office on the deck whenever I can!
Fun, colorful show!
