White-breasted Nuthatches are one of the most frequent backyard visitors right now, which makes me happy because I think they are delightful!

They pop in to sample peanuts.

And they often stop in for Bark Butter.

Typically, they play well with others, but sometimes they poof up their feathers to express their unwillingness to share.

I’d say these black and white beauties look like a bridegroom, all decked out in his wedding day tux, but their antics make them seem more like they’re garbed in the ringmaster’s attire.

Either way, these dapper and delightful birds are always welcome in my backyard!
