The two main types of finches that we typically see hanging out at the backyard feeders are the House Finches…

…and the Goldfinches.

But every now and then, a Purple Finch drops in for some food.

I think these finches look fruit flavored – like their feathers have been smeared with Smuckers!

The females don’t have the same coloring…

…but the males look like they should reek of raspberry or grape.

Always nice to have them hanging around!
