The White-throated Sparrows are back in town!

These seasonal songsters, whose appearance I gladly anticipate, are only here for the late fall and winter months. Their call always sounds like they are singing “Oh Christmas Tree” to me!

This little beauty came by and was taking a partial bath by perching on the edge and then dipping his head into the birdbath and shaking it quite vigorously – something he did about a dozen times before flying off.

Later in the afternoon, he (or another of the same variety) came back and opted for the full feather soaking.

Then, when he was through bathing, he hopped up on the side of the birdbath and perched with his feathers all poofy.

Such a handsome fellow!
