As I was scrolling through the pictures I took yesterday, I came across this Robin wading into the waterfall fountain and before I knew it I was singing – “Knee deep in the water somewhere, got the blue sky breeze blowing wind through my hair, only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair…”
Well, he didn’t stay knee deep for long. Soon he had settled in for a leisurely soak.
Every once in awhile he would splash about…
…and occasionally he would dive under the surface and totally disappear beneath a spray of water…
…but mostly he seemed content to poof out his feathers and enjoy a little refreshing relaxation.
Robins are probably the bossiest birds in my backyard (they torment the Bluebirds mercilessly!) but they really are beautiful bathers.
And thanks to this guy, I’ll be daydreaming about the ocean and singing Zac Brown songs for the rest of the day!
What a happy little birdie he is! Wow, I’ll have to be on the lookout – I’ve never noticed the robins interacting with the bluebirds. Great shots (as always), Kathy. ❤ I'm wondering if maybe you should attach speakers to the deck – the music may draw the birds as much as the bark butter lol.
Hmmm…perhaps I’ll just sing to the birds. 🙂
Good one! 😀
That’s a handsome Robin, great shots Kathy! 🙂
Thanks…and safe travels to you!
haha! I’m singing it too! How fortunate you are to have these to watch! So cute!
They are fun to watch, but boy are they noisy!
really? 🙂 What kind of noises?
They have this angry chirpy chatter when they are agitated…and my Bluebirds have been keeping mine agitated!
I don’t know the song, but I understand how this little beauty could lift your spirits!
A bathing beauty! ❤️ Great photos, Kathy! 😄
These are gorgeous, love the action captures of his bath!
