Some people hum when they are happy (like my Dad when he is sneaking snacks from the kitchen!) – and I am happy around wings that hum – like hummingbirds and hummingbird moths.
While I was out taking pictures in the front yard the other day, this lovely hummingbird dropped by for a visit…
…as did this hummingbird moth.
These are such cool creatures, and great fun to photograph. 🙂
Amazing and beautiful photos.
Thank you!
You captured some great photos! Well done.
Thank you! I got several blurry ones too!
Kathy – your photos are so amazing. Such crisp detail and vivid color! Bravo!
Thanks. It brings me joy to both take them and share them. 😊
Really amazing photos ! Which type of camera did you use ? Which settings ? The wings don’t have the least bit of blur . . . amazing.
I have a Canon T3i. These were with a 100-400mm lens with the shutter speed at 3200. The bright sunlight helped.
I can certainly see why you’ll be humming along, Kathy. I would be too!
Kathy your shots are just phenomenal! The colors are so vivid and just beautiful!
Thanks! I love zinnia blossoming season!
Stunning captures! ❤
Thanks!
Fantastic photographs, Kathy. Two of my favourite creatures – the hummingbird and its mothy namesake.
“Mothy namesake” – love it!
These are two of my favorite creatures. You got wonderful pictures of both, which is hard to do.
I was pleased to get some good shots amidst the many blurry ones that I didn’t post!
Kathy, I’ve tried taking them and they really are hard to get sharp pictures of. I probably have hundreds of blurry ones!
Hummingbirds always strike me as little miracles and your pictures seem miraculous too.
They are fascinating…and thanks for the kind words!
