I LOVED the trip we took to Titusville last month, but I must agree with Dorothy – “there’s no place like home!” And while it’s wonderful to get away and see birds and beauty that are not common in my neck of the woods, my soul breathes a happy sigh when I get back home and am surrounded by the familiar beauty of my backyard birds.
Here’s a few members of the welcoming committee that were ready to greet me upon my return.

And here are a few more.

Yep, get-aways are great every now and then, but I agreed with Dorothy, and I sing along with Denver – “Hey, it’s great to be back home again!”
I bet they were awfully glad you got home too! Unless you had someone there filling the feeders, they’ve missed you!
We were only gone for 5 days, but you’d have thought it was the whole season!
Super shots. Don’t know any of those, but not surprising considering we are on different continents!
It’s always fun to see birds and beauty from other places. 🙂
And for those of us whose gallavantin’ days are pretty much behind us, the internet is a magic carpet to see Nature’s Glories through your brilliant eyes & lens. Thanks a million, Kathy!
My pleasure! And your comments (and the beautiful ways you use language) helps to spread beauty too!
Beautiful portraits, Kathy! Welcome home. 🙂
Thank you!
With such lovely neighbours it’s easy to see your home is in a great neighbourhood!
When the girls were little, I used to show them toy store ads and let them circle what they wanted. I want to do that with this post. If I circle the brown-headed nuthatch and write “want dat” next to it, do you think I’ll get it?
I’ll see what I can do!!
Who wouldn’t love to return home with all of these magnificent beauties to greet you. Great images as usual – thanks for sharing!
Beauties for sure…but what cracks me up is how bossy they can be! They seemed quite put out by my get away.
