Do you know what’s louder than a Carolina Wren in the backyard? Yep, a baby Carolina Wren!
This little one was perched on the feeding trough and LOUDLY calling out for food…

…which the parent quickly supplied.

I am always amazed that such a little bird can be so loud!
Our wrens blast their bulletins & interim announcements daily in the front trees & often from the front porch. One of the bold little dickens flew right in my front door once. It zoomed back out after a quick inspection & so far has not yet started a nest in the open vestibule this spring as last year. We have a very up close tribe of wrens around our condo house & are well aware of the boisterous busy-bodies. (And quite fond.)
They are bold! We have a pair that rush into our garage if we leave the door open and try to quickly build a nest in my hubby’s tool bag!
It’s amazing how such a big voice can come from such a little package. Every spring when I hear it I am surprised by the volume, I use my Merlyn bird app and then say, Oh yea…that’s that little wren.”
And they have about 70 different songs they sing too! All loud!
Well no WONDER I’m so confused all the time!
Aw, so pretty (esp for me, viewing your images in silence π)!
Funny!
