I’ve already shared with ya’ll how I’ve had Hummingbirds and Goldfinches and Butterflies showing up to enjoy the zinnias this summer season. Well, there’s been a bunch of Hummingbird Moths that have also been busy at the blossoms!

When you first see one of these cool creatures, it’s easy to think it’s a bee or maybe even a small bird with the way its wings beat so fast, but it’s actually a marvelous moth!

I find them to be oddly beautiful, with their fuzzy antennae, their furry plump bodies, and their intricate wings.

Not only have these summer visitors been busy sipping nectar…well…they’ve been busy getting busy!

I really love taking pictures of these moths. I get so excited (maybe even ridiculously excited) when I get a shot of one in flight with its tongue-like proboscis all coiled up.

Having Hummingbird Moths hanging about is one of my favorite parts of the summer season!
So neat captures of this pretty critter!
Excellent shots, esp. the proboscis!
Wow, gorgeous.
