Does anyone remember those old Dos Equis commercials, the ones with “the most interesting man in the world?” He would always end with the exhortation to “stay thirsty, my friends.”

Well, I feel like I urge my backyard birds to do the same! You see, I know if they’re thirsty I’ll have the chance to take some pictures while they are perched and drinking. Lately there’s been a lot of Pine Warblers stopping in. Like this beauty…

A Mourning Dove came by for a sip…

…as did an American Goldfinch and a House Finch.

This Brown-headed Nuthatch dipped half his head in when he was drinking…

…and then came up with a nice drop of water on his beak.

He seemed to really enjoy his drink at the fountain.

Yep, please “stay thirsty, my feathered friends,” because I just love taking your picture at the water dishes and the fountain.
