I know I’ve said it countless times before, but when it comes to pure, absolutely-enjoyable entertainment, nothing beats watching a bathing bird – especially when they are as vigorous as this Tufted Titmouse that showed up the other afternoon!

This little beauty would soak and splash…

…briefly hop out…

…and then repeat the feather drenching process.

At times, all I could see was a blur of gray in the bubbly spray…

…and other times he (or she) would pose as if he knew how handsome he looked with his freshly washed feathers all poofed out.

They say that all good things must come to an end (although I’m not sure that old adage is always true!), and he eventually flew off to preen in the branches near the edge of the yard.

I must say though, it was a marvelous matinee – and well worth the price of admission!

Nothing more delightful than nature
Likewise Kathy we love watching our locals drink, bathe and preen at the birdbaths and empty the baths which I fill three times a day sometimes, especially when the larger birds and the whole Magpie family come with junior in tow. A lovely showcase of this cute little bird.
Absolutely, marvelous matinee π! Wonderful story of this titmouse spa day. Itβs cute. And an exquisite last photo of its exit. Enjoyed smiling with you.
