Splash Week – Day Three

Today’s featured bird is the Yellow-rumped Warbler.  This fellow is a fall and winter resident here in Georgia.  I wish the pictures were a bit sharper (Let’s blame the dim lighting rather than the novice photographer!) but I’m glad he put his “butter-butt” on display!  Here he is enjoying a leisurely bath in the upper portion of our waterfall.

This one’s a bit of a blur, but you can tell he got into his bathing experience!

His coloring will darken up as spring approaches, but for now his softer hues give him a more subtle beauty.

Tomorrow a male Eastern Bluebird will make his debut on Splash Week…

  1. Great captures Kathy! I’ve never had one of this in my backyard…yet! Thanks for the post. 🙂

  2. These are really good–I like the lighting, it goes well with their drab er winter plumage. And yes, that butter butt shows up very well.
