Splash Week – Day Six

Yesterday there was a ton of bird activity in my backyard.  At times it seemed like a swarming frenzy of feathers, as birds swooped about filling up on food and water.  I’m pretty sure they were sensing the cold weather that is moving in.

One bird that showed up was the Hermit Thrush.  Normally he is a bit skittish, but yesterday he was quite the boisterous bather.  He did not seem the least bit intimidated by my presence, which earned him the honor of being the bird featured on day six of Splash Week.  I just love his rustic, woodsy colors.

So, who will be the final bird featured on tomorrow’s Splash Week finale?

Well, I can tell you it won’t be the Gray Catbird…

and it won’t be the Pine Siskin or the American Goldfinch…Can you tell this is merely a shameless way to post more pictures?…

and it won’t be this rowdy Robin…

I know, you can barely stand the suspense!  But you’ll have to stop by tomorrow if you want to see which bathing bird gets the spotlight on day seven.

  1. This has been a very interesting and photogenic sequence of daily postings, using the bird bath as a focus. Well done!
