4. Kathy, that is a terrific portrait of this interesting bird. I find it very difficult to get the eyes of dark-eyed, dark plumages birds to show up, and the eyes in your photo are so expressive. Well done!

   1. Thanks Sue. It’s funny, I actually took the picture to practice on a black bird since I too have a hard time getting the highlights to come out. Was practicing some techniques I read about (underexposing) to see how it worked.
