Some foods just go better together, wouldn’t you agree?
Like burgers and fries.
And chips and dip.
And peanut butter and jelly.
And worms and Bark Batter.
Well…I haven’t actually tried that last combination, but I have it on good authority that it is quite tasty!
Several times over the course of the last week, a Robin has shown up at the feeders with a worm dangling from his beak.
He then hops over to the Bark Butter and scoops up a generous portion to go with his freshly caught food.
He (or she) has never eaten on site, but carries this combination off to enjoy it elsewhere.
Perhaps it is being taken as a nutritious treat for a baby Robin to enjoy, or perhaps this bird simply enjoys his fast food to go. ย Whatever the reason, I find him delightfulย to watch.
What a great combo! Your birds have quite an interesting menu!
I’m pretty sure they eat better than I do!
He likes his worms with plenty of batter! Great captures, Kathy!
And I like my shrimp breaded! He does make me laugh though. ๐
He made me smile too…and think about my son’s sandwiches when he was 13-14 ๐
Wow – your birds sure do get the yummy treats! ๐
It makes me laugh when they show up with their own food. ๐
Excellent photos and observations!
This Robin is quirky, but fun. I’ve never had a bird do that before! ๐
You get such great shots Kathy in your backyard bird resort.
Thanks! I get so much enjoyment from it that I feel spoiled!
A beautiful bird Cathy, perhaps its asking for a bit of live variety in the feeder?
Hmmm….I thought about putting out live mealworms, but I just can’t bring myself to keep them in my fridge!
Well, maybe it wants to be prepared if the bark butter is gone! ๐ Love these photos, Kathy! ๐จ๐
You may be right. Perhaps he is a boy scout with the “be prepared” motto!
So cute! Love the beautiful colours! ๐
Robins are so common here that I think we forget how beautiful they are!
Fantastic observation!
