Sip, Dip, and Drip

I know that my posts typically display my backyard Blue Jays scavenging peanuts from the trays on the deck, but that’s not all they do.

Occasionally, they show up for some sipping…

…at other times for some dipping…

and sometimes they simply show up dripping!

And then, of course, it’s back to the pilfering of Planter’s.

bluejay7Really though, who can resist taking pictures of such a handsome subject who seems so willing to pose?

  1. Oh the 3rd and the last are priceless! Love the personality you always get in your photos, Kathy! Seriously, who gets birds with personality? You’re an artist with a lens. My husband buys a 30 or 50 lb. bag of shelled peanuts at the Southern States store. They’re not fit for human consumption, I don’t think, and cheaper. May be a better buy than Planters, lol. I don’t really like blue jays in general (and I like the baseball team even less) but yours are always appealing!!

  2. Oooh….an artist with a lens…a love that! And that fellow in the last picture is quite the poser – it is one of the ways I can tell him apart from the others. 🙂

  3. Love them all Kathy especially the one with his crest up.
Kath. I agree with Laura above you have a special gift, a good eye for brilliant composition. And a passion for birds and nature.
