As I sat down to write this post, words from an old James Taylor song popped into my mind –
Summer’s here, I’m for that
Got my rubber sandals, got my straw hat
Got my cold beer, I’m just glad that it’s here
Well, summer for me means that the butterflies are starting to show up.
The first two that fluttered by while I had my camera in hand were this lovely Gulf Fritillary…
…and this stunning Tiger Swallowtail.
I’m hoping many more beauties will show up in the weeks ahead.
wow – look at the beautiful detail you capture…… Summer Breeze…. Makes me Feel Fine….
Like that song too. š
Your photos are stunning.
Thank you! I have stunning subjects to work with! š
I saw a yellow swallowtail dining in the scarlet Montbretia. But it wouldn’t sit still & pose for me & anyway my camera was in the house. As my ex-husband used to comment, “Remember the 7 PPPPPPPs!” (In case you weren’t in the army: Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss-Poor Performance! Obviously you follow the 1 P Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared! (Lovely photos as always.
Beautiful!!!
Both wonderful photos, I particularly like the detail in the fritillary.
One of the bonuses of hot weather – the butterflies flitting about and sunning themselves. Mother Nature at her finest.
Great captures of these summer beauties!
