Happy Hour

The birds must have decided that it was “happy hour” in my backyard yesterday, as several showed up to enjoy a drink.

Some were sippers…

Downy Woodpecker
Eastern Bluebird
Pine Warbler
Carolina Chickadee

…some were drippers…

American Robin
Tufted Titmouse
Brown-headed Nuthatch
White-breasted Nuthatch

…and all of them were lousy tippers!

But hey – they enjoyed their fresh water happy hour, and I enjoyed a happy hour of taking their pictures.

  1. You got all those in an hour?? That’s amazing. We have two sources of water for my birds too..they enjoy it. I don’t have a good way to take photos though, through the window if I don’t spook them, but there are reflections in the window. I think I could put up a camouflage tent of some sort on the deck though. Maybe next summer. We have the white-breasted nuthatch, but not the brown headed one. I don’t think I’ve seen a pine warbler either, though I know we do have some warblers here. I’ve seen a yellow one at a campground nearby, could be this one, but I just don’t know.
