With spring nearly sprung, and mating season fast approaching, the backyard guys are gettin’ goofy – especially the male Bluebird.

This lovely female is the object of his pursuit…

…and he is doing everything possible to get her attention. He follows wherever she goes, and poofs up his feathers just a bit to try and impress her.

If that doesn’t work, he gets even poofier!

He also tries twitching and twirling his wings, which is what he was doing in this picture, though it’s hard to tell when you freeze the motion!

I’m thinking his best bet may be just to pose pretty, or perhaps bring food!

Still, I’m fairly certain she’ll soon succumb to his charms. I mean, really, who could resist such a good looking fella?
