I confess that I have never seen a UFO before, but I have seen plenty of UFW’s – Unidentified Flying Warblers. In fact, this past week this fine fellow flew through my backyard.

Turns out he is a Black-throated Green Warbler (id courtesy of the “Picture Bird” app) who proved to be a bit tricky to get a picture of because he flitted about up in the Oak leaves, where he blended right in. I had to wait for those moments when he came out into the clearing for a second…

…or flew down to investigate the fountain.

Wish I had been able to get a sharper shot, but like they say, you get what you get and you don’t pitch a fit!
I wonder who will drop in for a visit next!
Lucky you that this beautiful warbler decided to stop by your wonderful backyard! And lucky for all of us that you captured such delightful photos of him!
I’m pretty sure if I saw something faintly yellow bee-bopping around in the shrubs I’d assume it was a female goldfinch. Or a male now that they’ve changed into their winter colors.
Those colours! Wow!
