A Temperamental Toddler

Georgia weather has been a lot like a temperamental toddler lately! One minute all is calm and enjoyable, and the next minute you’re in the midst of a major temper tantrum!

For example, a week ago the daffodils were blossoming, the peonies were poking up through the ground, and the wind was whispering that spring had surely arrived. Then, without warning, the temps had a massive mood swing and dipped back below freezing, sending me scurrying for my winter coat and gloves.

The good news about the colder weather is that the birds are more active at the feeders, I guess because the bugs are either back in hiding or don’t taste good frozen!

Here are a handful that stopped in to snack.

Eastern Bluebird (male)
Red-bellied Woodpecker (male)
Chipping Sparrow
Northern Cardinal (female)
Northern Cardinal (male)
Pine Warbler

I’d say I hope the weather outgrows this toddler stage soon, but I dread to think of how it will behave as a teenager!
