Two little birds that are nearly departed are next on the list for the April Thirty-Bird Challenge – the Dark-eyed Junco (#7)…

…and the Ruby Crowned Kinglet (#8).


I say they are nearly departed not because they are in danger of dying off, but because they will soon be flying off. They spend the winter months here and then travel north to their summer abode round about this time of year.
I’m glad they stuck around to make an April appearance before bidding us a fond farewell til Fall.
