A Red-bellied Woodpecker was acting like a baby in the backyard the other day…well, he was acting like a baby was somewhere nearby anyway!

He kept swooping down to the feeding area, grabbing a quick peanut, and then quickly flying away.

A moment later, he would return, grab another nut, and take off again.

He kept repeating this process over and over and over!

I haven’t seen the little one yet, but I’ve definitely heard some demanding chatter from the treetops at the edge of the yard. Who knows, maybe Junior will follow him to the feeders soon!
