Yesterday morning was the perfect weather for deer hunting – crisp and cool, with trees still coated in fall colors – so hubby and I bundled up and headed out to an area that is known to have a hearty deer population. I am thrilled to report that I ended up shooting three bucks, though I’m sure it won’t surprise you that I was using a Canon and not a rifle – a Canon camera that is!

Here are a few of the handsome fellas that obliged me with a shot or two.

We also saw an American Kestrel perched overhead…

…and several birds down by the lake – like this Muscovy Duck, who looks like a masked marauder…

…this Great Blue Heron who had just woken up from a snooze…

…and this Canada Goose who was gracefully gliding across the water.

But my favorite photo of the day was probably this gentle doe. Isn’t she lovely?

I guess I’ll have to add deer hunting to my list of fun things to do!
