Have you ever noticed that when one toddler chooses a toy to play with, suddenly that is the toy that every other toddler simply has to have. There may be plenty of others to choose from, but clearly only one will do.
Well, the same thing happens with feeding spots in my backyard. I tend to spread gobs of Bark Butter in about seven or eight different places, but as soon as one bird chooses a place to eat, it suddenly becomes everyone’s favorite.
The other day, this Red-bellied Woodpecker was helping himself to some of this suet-like spread…

…and as soon as he left, an Eastern Phoebe swooped in for a bite.

Next came a male Downy Woodpecker…

…followed by a pretty Pine Warbler.

And then finally, a Brown Creeper paid a visit to the same spot.

Couldn’t help but shake my head a bit as bird after bird chose to eat at this one coveted location. Such toddlers!
What a parade of visitors!
Just making it easier for the photographer! 😉
Indeed!
True enough about toddlers and toys!
And apparently your toddler birds… I love the variety of your feathered friends.
