While I was out stalking Tanagers the other day, a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher (A first for me!) dropped in for a brief visit. He was a dashing fellow – both in the verb and the adjective sense!
He (though it honestly could have been a “she”) really was handsome, garbed in his olive and gold tones.

He dropped down on one of the branches near the fountain, and watched for a chance to take a quick dip.

Then, when the coast was clear, he dashed down, dipped under the surface, and darted back out, leaving a spray of water in his wake.

These birds really are fly-by bathers!
I’m glad this beauty stopped in on his way south for the winter, and I’m glad I had my camera handy for his few minutes here!
