It was a rainy day here in Georgia; lovely, but too wet to make our annual trek to Riverfest – the local arts and crafts festival we had hoped to attend.
Not wanting the drizzle to dampen my spirits, I strapped on my camera and looked outside to see if anything captured my attention.
Red must have been the color of the day as the first thing that caught my eye was this droplet covered Hibiscus.
This male Downy Woodpecker with his flaming head patch made an appearance…
as did this pair of Cardinals.
The blushing feet on this Mourning Dove stood out…
as did the colorful nectar this Ruby-throated Hummingbird was enjoying.
Of course, there were also some grays, and golds and autumn browns…
…but mostly, it was a rainy day full of reds.
And despite the cancelled plans and the constant drizzle, it turned out to be a lovely day after all.
Very nice photo
Thank you. 🙂
Love the attention to red! One of my favorite colors. I especially like your photo of the raindrops on the Hibiscus. ❤️
I liked the Hibiscus too. 🙂
Wonderful! In my experience, rain seems to bring out birds, and they did not disappoint! 🙂
They didn’t seem bothered in the least…it was such a gentle rain that it was probably an enjoyable rinse off for them. 🙂
Beautiful images Kathy, love your birds!
Thanks – and hope your weekend has been blessed. 🙂
Love!!! Thank you, Kathy!
My pleasure. 🙂
Love the little yellowish green bird, he looks so cute and as if he´s had enough of the rain… Beautiful pictures, as always!!! 🐥
He’s a male Pine Warbler, and is one of my favorites. He always announces his arrival with a happy little tune.
